As of right now, the NPCA is booked into some good old Saturday night match racing events at Rick Krafft’s Match Race Mania I in Joliet, IL at Route 66 Raceway May 17 and the NEW Muncie Dragway for their annual Night of Fire on August 9.  Both of these events require us to bring twenty race cars from our top five classes, which includes Super Eliminator through B/Gas.  We will bring our top four point earners in each class.  The May 17 race will be based on our 2007 points standings, with the Muncie Night of Fire (Aug 9) will be based on the standings from the Indy Hot Rod Nationals race. 

 

 

   If a promoter or track owner wants the NPCA for a match race, their budget is dependent upon how many cars we can bring.  In order to make it fair for our racers and insure the promoter or track owner gets our best performing cars, it will be based on where you stand in the point championship (you must be an NPCA member to compete in the points championship).  Example: If 20 cars are required, we will take the top four from our top five classes.  This brings the promoter a variety of cars and our top performers.  If a car from the top four cannot attend for what ever reason, we will ask the #5 person and so on.  This is an incentive to participate at all the points series races.  If more or less cars are required, we will adjust to fit the track's needs.  As of right now, Joliet and Muncie events put on by Rick Krafft's Match Race Mania are the only two events that are “closed exhibition”, all other events on the NPCA schedule are “open” to any and all who fit our program.

 

 

   Spring Warm Up at Muncie Dragway in Muncie, IN, May 3.  Any and all are welcome to participate for test–n-tune, licensing passes or just to grudge race with whomever. This cost for this event is FREE and great chance to get your race car ready for the championship series! Muncie Dragway will be the NPCA home track and we really need to support them, as they are supporting the NPCA!  This event is open to all racers.

 
   Nitro Blast '08 at Mid State Dragway in Havana, IL, Aug. 22-24.   For our only eighth mile race of the year, we will be at Mid State Dragway in Havana, IL for Nitro Blast ’08 August 22-24.  This is a two day race with a T-n-T on Friday night.  Mid State has booked two nitro nostalgia funny cars, as well as two nostalgia top fuelers!  This promises to be the largest event to come to Mid State Dragway in over 30 years!  Indexes and classes will be restructured for this one time eighth mile extravaganza.  This event is open to all racers.  

 
   Match Race Mania II/Nostalgia Nationalas at Muncie Dragway, Sept. 20.   NPCA will head back to Muncie in September for Match Race Mania II/Nostalgia Nationals. This will be a one day event where qualifying will take place during the day, with eliminations in the evening. This event is open to all racers.

 

 

   You are going to like this!  Now, with help of Goodguys, our past members and sponsors of the NPCA, we will have an NPCA Championship Series Membership.  In order to be eligible for points at any of our championship series events, you will have to be a NPCA Championship Series Member.  With this membership you will also receive a membership card and 2 NPCA decals.  Decals must be displayed on your car for points eligibility.  Points are awarded to the car owner, not the driver. 

 

   If you were a member in 2007 your member dues for a 2008 membership is $40.00.  If you were not a member in 2007, membership dues are $50.00.  These membership applications will be mailed to those who do not have internet access.  For those who do have internet access, your application can be filled out on line and paid for with a credit card via Pay Pal.  For questions regarding memberships, please contact Sarah at sarah@nostalgiaprocomp.com.
